About
A Brief Theology of Work and Money
Based on the mandate found in Genesis 1 and 2, to be faithful to God’s design and intent for mankind, we must be both productive and innovative. Of all the work we can endeavor to undertake, none is more important than that which results in spreading the good news of Jesus to all people in all places. This happens through the Church, through para-church organizations and the faithfulness of God’s people, whether missions is their vocation, or whether they use their vocation as their mission.
Christians should strive to be at the forefront of discovery and innovation. Our primary response to technology should not be to shun or avoid it. Instead, those with the passion, knowledge and desire should embrace it. Not naively and not allowing ourselves to be transformed by it, but rather, in light of our God given purpose to subdue and rule over these technologies, we should work to redeem them.
To effectively accomplish the work of taking the gospel to the nations requires funding from God’s people. Unfortunately, the 20th century mechanisms to facilitate Christian stewardship are antiquated, slow, expensive, and in many cases insecure. That is why we are working to bring the latest financial technologies to the giving and fundraising space. Our desire is to see a revival of God’s people joyfully using God’s resources for the advancement of God’s purposes. To do that in this rapidly changing world, people and organizations need both tools and information that is globally accessible, easy to utilize, and effective.
The opportunity to participate alongside our Creator in His ongoing creative endeavors, while also tending to that which He has blessed us with, is extraordinarily inspiring. It moves us to do all things with excellence for humanity’s good and for His glory.
Our desire is to see a revival of God’s people joyfully using God’s resources for the advancement of God’s purposes.
